Since I was child, I’d never try myself into hard works, I
spent my time by playing games and having no dreams. My parents tried to persuade
me on joining some extracurricular in my junior high school, but I just lazy and
they were unnecessary for me, though. But then, I just compared myself through those
actively works in School organizations like OSIS, ROHIS etc. Of course, I found
the real nightmare or my biggest fear was to show up in front up a lot of
people. I tried so hard to change my self but finally I failed because my foolish
and laziness were bigger than I thought; I need people to force me to do so,
but who? I’d always being spoiled in my family, I could do everything what I
want without faring to my parents.
But it’s over until I reach my senior high school level in
Gontor; a place where disciplines were honored, a place where many big people
are built, a place where your dreams came true through hard efforts. I thank Gontor
so much, because it told me uncountable things; it taught me how to live, how
to honor and how to be honored. However 5 years that I spent in Gontor
influenced me so much until I became what I’m living right now.
I continued my education travel to UMY (Universitas
Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta) to take my undergraduate program. Being an International Relations student with no basic
political education before was a big deal for me; meanwhile, I still had many
friends that always support me in every activity I joined. Alhamdulillah when
lecturing just recently started I was chosen by Leader of KOMAHI (International
relations student corps) Mas Hadi Amroni to become a leader of IR graduate
2011. Even it so difficult at the first, but I try to always keep my promise
and keep trustworthiness from people whom support me so much, like family,
friends, lectures or even my previous teachers in Gontor.
Nowadays, I joined some organizations in UMY, consist of
Student Activity Board in KOMAHI, Student creative club like Al-Mujaddid,
Student English Activity, Scout Movement Racana Nyai Ahmad Dahlan, from Islamic
Student Movement I joined HMI MPO and for Islamic activity club I joined LPTQ
(Students Organization of Developing Reciting Holy Qur’an).
However, never intend to be arrogant, but honestly I always
got higher or even the highest position from those organizations and it
certainly because they trusted me so much and they knew my capacity and also my
experiences on leading organizations. Hope I could keep their mandate as long
as I could or perhaps till the rest of my life.
In the end, I suggest you to join any kind of organization
that suitable with your major or your passion, not only because you might do
that but I think you must do it, organizations not only give you new friends,
new atmosphere, new office, new job, but above everything it will teach you
what your lectures didn’t do in your regular lecturing.
